Vintage Mens Clothing: Where to Find it?

If you are looking for vintage clothing for a vintage revival, but it's proving difficult we have a few tips to help.

Finding the correct vintage clothing attire can be exceedingly difficult, especially if you are after a certain look or style from a certain era.

After receiving a telephone call from a customer looking for that perfect vintage tweed suit, we were incredibly happy to help. Unfortunately, vintage tweed suits that fit can be exceedingly difficult to find and generally on the small side.

He also wanted the item to be striking, dapper and a showpiece to add to his vintage wardrobe.

He had looked in charity shops, car boots and online marketplaces but he had not found anything suitable.

We also asked if had he considered a tweed jacket or blazer on its own, which could be mixed with his own light colour of beige men's trousers.

Most of our jackets would go with most pairs of trousers or chinos. The most common colours to wear in trousers at a Revival event would be Brown, Beige or Grey.

We have a special category on our website for Goodwood or Vintage Revival vintage clothing.

This is the striking jacket we suggested a Half Norfolk Bladen Supasax, Size 46” Tailored Shooting Tweed Jacket. We asked to look at the jacket very closely and to check the full description, measurements, and condition.

Bladen Supasax is renowned for its quality and if you can find a vintage Bladen men's jacket, like this with a superior weave and in excellent condition as this one was it is suitable to wear to any vintage revival or vintage event.

A brief history of Bladen Supasax. Established by two brothers, William and Arthur Bladen, the company originally supplied riding wear to the country classes. Quality was always the watchword as the label grew, with jackets, breeches and cavalry twills made from the finest cloth the British Isles had to offer.

Quality never goes out of fashion.

We wanted to share with you some of our recent finds this month for men's vintage clothing and you can find these men's vintage jackets, or vintage revival jackets in our Goodwood Revival section unless they have already sold.

We stock a complete mix of vintage tweed jacket types including double-breasted jackets or blazers.

Many customers do ask us what is the difference between a blazer and a jacket.

Blazers are more rounded on the shoulders, with open pockets and have a relaxed look, see below.

Also, some of our men's tweed jackets have two or three-button frontage, single or double-vented rear, ticket pocket, viscose lining and bespoke and tailor-made.

Also, last of all before you purchase a vintage clothing item, remember one size does not fit all, especially going back to the 1950s - 60s, when most garments were tailored and handmade.
